Competition – “Watering place with history”

Competition for students from I to XII grade

For DRAWING or NARRATIVE on the topic “Watering place with history”

In continuation of our initiative “Mark a watering place, we will run water”, the Science for Nature Foundation announces the first competition for a short story/narrative or a drawing on the topic “Watering place with history”.

The watering places and water are deeply embedded in Bulgarian culture, like many of our traditions, observances and beliefs are connected with them. According to the Bulgarian tradition “you should do good deeds for the stranger, water the thirsty and feed the hungry” and the watering places are important not only for people, but also for the animals. From the troughs of the watering places the wild animals drink water and tourists stop for rest – to quench their thirst or to cool down.

We believe that in every town or village there is a watering place with interesting history, good-looking or important for the local community. With our competition we want to find out about more such examples.

The competition is divided into two categories.
