We successfully held the first dog friendly mountain running competition in Bulgaria. The ultramarathon took place on October 23rd in the mountain hills of Eastern Rhodopes, which welcomed 42 runners and 7 four-legged friends.

The praticipants got in touch with the wild and very unknown region of Bulgaria, famous cultural monuments and unique natural phenomena. In addition to the sport challenge, the racers, their relatives and the locals had the opportunity to get to know the only flying mammals – the bats. Science for Nature Foundation presented the project “LIFE Under One Roof”, within which the competition was organised.

The response from the event was more than impressive, and the sunny smiles of the participants make us look forward to the second edition of the marathon!
